Here in Louisville (or any part of Kentucky at that matter), this weekend is always refered to as "the weekend of hell." Derby weekend is always the most busy for restaurants. I worked long shifts and dreadful hours. 60+ hours last week, not including this week which was still full of busy business and busy, busy people. The rush started last wednesday and ended yesterday (for me at least). I worked 6 days in a row and didn't get a break. I ended up getting a urinary track infection the other day due to the lack of bathroom breaks I get at work, especially on weekends. It was rather painful and I ended up leaving work for 2 and a half hours to get medication but then soon ended right back up at work to finish my shift. The medication, though it works to help my compulsion to go to the bathroom, it doesn't really make me feel all that great. Most pills do this to me any way, however working around a 600 degree oven doesn't help to ease any sort of pain I was going through that day. Any who, sorry for ranting about my problems! Over all, I got through the week and my paycheck is going to look OH-SO-GLORIOUS! Plus, when I think of Kyle and how he had to work 90+ hours at his work, I don't feel as bad... heh.
On Thursday night (which is still the flow of Derby traffic and celebs) Bobby Flay came to the Proof and ate. He didn't talk to us but he did talk to our Chef. The Prince of some area went and ate at the Brown last weekend as well.
